In the early 50s, he sold millions of records with 32 hit songs including 'Thinking of You,' 'Any Time,' 'Oh, My Pa-pa,' 'I'm Yours,' and 'Wish You Were Here.


He was 82 and was the father of 'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher.

He was married 4 times, and in his autobiography he admitted, "It isn't the music that people remember most about me. It's the women."
