The official end of summer and the beginning of autumn for the northern hemisphere, and the first day of spring for those south of the equator.

There will be an equal amount of light and darkness. Its meaning comes from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night), the equinox typically enters between September 22-24 when the sun appears to cross the celestial equator from north to south.

Fall foliage makes autumn a spectacular time of the year. It also signifies the end of Summer and The countdown to Winter.
Shorter days are ahead, and so are the cooler temperatures.
